It is the story of Eryn of Thera, an ancient vampire King who becomes immortal by ritual of blood performed millennia ago. His twin brother, Prince Erymach, destroys the temple of their powers. The King's master orders him to restore it by performing thirteen sacrifices where the victims must first build their temple, and then be sacrificed under the eclipse of the full moon. Those sacrificed are known as the Builders. They are believed to bestow their kind powers to rule humanity and even bring a soul back from the underworld in the body of the last victim.
